Following interest from non-government organisations (NGOs) in the Business in Mind DVD and Resource Kit, beyondblue has recently provided additional funding to extend the research to this sector.

NGOs operate under a range of pressures: financial vulnerability through insufficient or tenuous funding, policy and reporting constraints, skeleton paid staff, management of volunteer workforces and often challenging areas of work within the community. The result can be a stressful work environment, and similar  to small business, there can be little time or money to deal with stress and mental health issues within the workplace. At the suggestion of TasCOSS (The Tasmanian Council of Social Service) and the Mental Health Council of Tasmania, beyondblue has therefore funded an expansion of the Business in Mind Research Project so that it can now include NGOs.
